Traders in most Kampala markets complain of low consumption of fresh commodities like Matooke and Irish potatoes yet supply is high. This has caused a fall in prices from Ush.500 to Ush.450- Ush.400/kg of Irish potatoes depending on the days supply and location of the purchase. A sizable bunch of matooke weighing 20kgs is currently offered at Ush.5, 500 in Owino market while in Kalerwe market it is much cheaper. In general matooke is going for between Ush.4000 and Ush.8, 000 depending on size/ weight.
