A weather change in the growing areas has brought about an increase in supply of fresh commodities like matooke, Irish potatoes and cassava. This has caused a fall in prices especially for matooke and Irish potatoes. However this is partly blamed on decrease in consumption of the commodity at retail level on change in preferences to save money for school fees and recovery from the festive season. Retail prices fall between Ush 450-500 depending on supply and location of the purchase.
