millet

Millet is a type of grass native to Africa, grown for its edible seeds. It grows and produces well even under conditions which would prevent other crops from growing at all. World production of millet each year is difficult to estimate because almost all millet is produced in developing countries for domestic consumption, and very little exported for international trade.
